Instead of a playlist of songs that are guilty pleasures, I’ve created one ABOUT them.  Beer, hot dogs, chocolate, and even DC comics are the subjects of these tunes.

This playlist was inspired by the news that Sublime is returning with a new singer. Maybe it’s because of Madoff and the general state of the economy, but a lot of 90’s bands are reuniting for tours, one-off concerts, and even albums. I would rather put the 90’s behind me.

I actually caught myself jamming out to some of these songs while creating the playlist, specifically the Kylie Minogue. I’m positive that some of these songs were probably designed to be guilty pleasures. Try not to bop your head to a Timbaland song, but you will fail.

As sad as it is, the summer months are coming to an end and soon we must say goodbye to the carefree glow that summertime casts on everything.  This playlist captures that aching feeling when we realize we must wait a whole year for it’s return.  Enjoy!

With early roots in hardcore, Fall Out Boy took their beginnings and polished their sound into one of the most accessible bands today. Borrowing from predecessors Green Day and the Descendents, they added their own emo-pop sensibility and helped spawn the rise of sensitive-guy, emotional punk rock. Tickle me Emo!
