Jamaican Ska
April 10th, 2009

Ska originated in the late 1950’s in Jamaica- bringing together R&B and Doo-Wop influences into a distinctly new Jamaican sound. To get your Reggae Friday started, we have compiled a collection of early Ska tunes- including songs from the Skatalites and the Folkes Brothers, as well as rare tracks from the Wailers. Dig it, it’s Friday!
- The Wailers - Simmer Down
- Derrick Morgan - Shake A Leg - Prince Buster Records - Shuffle Ska
- Theophilus Beckford - Easy Snappin'
- Bob Marley - Like a Rolling Stone
- Folkes Brothers - Oh Carolina
- The Wailing Wailers-Whats new pussycat
- Derrick Morgan - Forward March
- The Maytals - I'll Never Grow Old
- Prince Buster - They Got To Go
